Selina “The Teep Queen” Flores Signs with ONE Championship 🌍
Premier is proud to share that Coach Selina Flores has officially signed with ONE Championship, stepping onto the global stage where she’ll represent not only our gym but the heart, discipline, and determination that define her journey.
Her story is one of transformation. In her early days, she never imagined becoming a fighter. Selina began training because of a family bet. She grew up doing gymnastics but reluctantly stepped into martial arts after losing that wager. As she recalled in her ONE Championship interview:
“I was crying, kicking, and screaming, telling them that I hated them, both of my parents. They forced me to do it. On the first day I remember coming home crying, and I told the coaches I hated it.”
Despite her resistance, something changed. Within a month, she began to fall in love with the sport.
“About a month in, I started realizing, ‘Hey, I’m kind of good at this … I was like, ‘Oh, this is sick, so I’m going to keep coming.’”
Her path forward was filled with ups and downs. Losses, injuries, and moments of doubt came early in her amateur career. In college, she wrestled between focusing on school or continuing to chase her dream. But the drive to keep fighting never left her.
When the pandemic hit, she once again found herself questioning everything. With events canceled and opportunities disappearing, she nearly walked away from the sport. But she stayed the course, leaned on her coaches and support system, and kept putting in the work.
That persistence paid off. Selina returned stronger, winning amateur titles and then going on to capture the WBC Super Bantamweight World Title. That victory cemented her place as one of the top Muay Thai athletes in the world and marked the beginning of something even bigger.
Now, she takes the next step in her career with ONE Championship.
“This journey has been filled with countless ups and downs. There were many times I wanted to quit, the losses felt heavy, and times when this goal felt so far away. But there were also exponentially more moments of pure joy, times I felt the happiest, the most fulfilled, and grateful to be doing what I love. Every one of those moments has led me here. And I’m so glad I never stopped pushing forward.”
Selina expressed her gratitude to those who have supported her throughout the journey.
“None of this would be possible without Coach Jeremy, my other coaches, and everyone who has supported me through it all. I couldn’t have done this alone.”
Everyone at Premier is incredibly proud of Coach Selina and all that she has accomplished. She is not only a world-class athlete but also an inspiring role model to our students, showing what it means to stay consistent and believe in yourself when things get tough.
